- No analytics trackers. Advertising cookies exist only on free plans, via Google AdSense, with consent where required.
- Pro has zero ads and zero advertising cookies.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser; local storage is a similar browser feature for remembering preferences. This policy lists everything AI Writing Assistant keeps in your browser and why. We deliberately keep it minimal.
Essential cookies
These are required for the Service to work and cannot be switched off:

Preference storage (localStorage)
These live in your browser's local storage, never leave your device by themselves, and can be cleared any time via your browser:
- Theme — your light/dark/system choice.
- Dismissed messages — for example, hiding a promotional banner so it doesn't reappear.
- Editor hand‑off — text you type in the homepage box is passed to the tool you pick via short‑lived session storage in your own browser, then cleared.
Advertising cookies (free plans only)
To keep free plans free, pages may show ads served by Google AdSense — only for guests and free accounts. When ads are active, Google may set cookies to serve and measure ads (and, where you have consented, to personalize them). Pro subscribers get no ads and no advertising cookies — the advertising code does not load at all on Pro accounts.
Where the law requires consent for advertising cookies, they are used only with your consent, and you can change your choice at any time. You can also control ad personalization in your Google Ads Settings and learn more in Google's cookie documentation.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking essential cookies may sign you out or prevent guest limits from working correctly, but the writing tools themselves will still function. Clearing local storage resets preferences such as your theme choice.
